THANK YOU TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS WHO HELPED MAKE THE 2017 SPRING DAYS OF IMPACT A HUGE SUCCESS!

Take a look at what volunteers accomplished.

SAVE THE DATE FOR THE NEXT DAYS OF IMPACT EVENT: OCTOBER 18-19, 2017.

What are Days of Impact events?

Days of Impact are corporate volunteer service events that occur twice each year and are coordinated by Hands On Asheville-Buncombe, the volunteer center of United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County.

Days of Impact mobilizes workforce volunteers to strengthen our community by matching groups with service projects focused on education, income and health goals that support the success of our community's students, families and neighbors.

Example projects include:

  • Moving homeless into housing
  • Reading to students
  • Participating in a financial education simulation with students

While we anticipate partners will continue to offer some landscaping and painting projects, the majority of projects will directly or indirectly support the needs of students and clients.

Quote from Days of Impact Partner:

"I want you to know what a tremendous gift your volunteers were to Verner last week and the substantial impact they made. As you know, most non- profits function with less than maximum human resource capacity! The infusion of human capital brought to us through Days of Impact helped us complete much needed projects to better serve our clients and the community." - Jacque Penick, Executive Director, Verner Center for Early Learning
