Who We Are

Mission: To better the lives of companion animals and the people who love them.

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is a nonprofit animal rescue organization. A mostly volunteer organization, Brother Wolf provides lifesaving programs and services for dogs, cats, and other animals. Through adoption and pet retention programs, a low-cost mobile spay and neuter clinic, lifesaving shelter transfer partnerships and extensive volunteer and foster networks, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue impacts the lives of thousands of animals each year.

What We Do

Brother Wolf accomplishes its primary goal of animal rescue through numerous activities such as partnering with groups in the northeast to move animals to waiting homes and deploying teams to disaster areas to assist with search and recovery, as well as the following programs:

  • Adoption Center:  Placement of animals in homes for permanent care.
  • Fostering Program: Provision of temporary care of rescued animals during the animal’s pregnancy, at the end of life, during recuperation from illnesses, or while awaiting adoption.
  • Mobile Veterinary Clinic:  Low cost spay/neuter services, vaccines, microchipping, and testing for dogs and cats in Buncombe, McDowell, Rutherford, Haywood, Burke, and Transylvania Counties.
  • ReTail : A  store for pet food, treats, toys, and accessories.
  • Second Chances: Thrift stores in four counties with a variety of household items operated to raise funds to support Brother Wolf Animal Rescue programs.
  • Community Cat Program: Assistance to the public with spaying, neutering, and maintaining colonies of feral, stray, and community cats that have caregivers.
