Who We Are

Mission: To amplify the voices and power of underserved communities.

Center for Participatory Change (CPC) is a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to creating transformative change through the power of collective action. Rooted in the belief that communities hold the solutions to their own liberation, CPC works to dismantle oppressive systems and foster healing within communities.

CPC envisions a future of Collective Liberation: La Liberación Del Pueblo. This vision encompasses a world where every individual and community is free from oppression, united in their pursuit of justice, and thriving in equitable systems built on mutual respect and solidarity.

What We Do

CPC is committed to creating pathways to collective liberation by engaging in community-centered initiatives and acidities that address systems of oppression and promote healing. Through a variety of programs and grassroots efforts, CPC activates its mission to ignite collective power, transform systems of systems, and heal in community. Key activities and programs include:

  • Black Love Events (Monthly): These events celebrate Black culture, resilience, and joy, creating spaces for connection, healing, and empowerment. By fostering solidarity and community, Black Love events uplift voices from the African diaspora and cultivate a sense of belonging.
  • Intercambio Cultural Exchange: This program facilitates cross-cultural dialogue and learning between different communities, fostering understanding and collaboration. Through cultural exchanges, CPC builds bridges across diverse groups to promote unity and collective empowerment.
  • New Gen Elementary and Middle School Girls Mentor Program: Focused on empowering young girls, this mentoring program provides support, leadership development, and guidance for elementary and middle school girls. The program fosters confidence, resilience, and a sense of agency among the next generation of leaders.
  • Policy Advocacy Support: CPC engages in advocacy efforts aimed at creating systemic change through policy reforms. By amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, CPC staff are present at meetings and use its connections that influences local and state policies to address disparities in housing, education, and criminal justice.
  • Grassroots Organizing: At the core of CPC’s work is grassroots organizing, which ignite community members to take collective action. CPC organizes campaigns, rallies, and workshops that build local leadership and mobilize communities to address pressing social issues.
  • Organizational Collaboration: CPC believes in the power of collaboration to amplify impact. Through partnerships with other organizations, CPC works to strengthen collective efforts in the fight against injustice, fostering networks of support and shared resources.
