North Carolina 2-1-1 is an information and referral service providing free and confidential health and human service information to callers seeking assistance. The Asheville call center serves 16 counties in western North Carolina, is accredited by the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS), and is hosted by United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County (UWABC). UWABC is a nonprofit organization working to reduce the impact of poverty on children, families, and communities in Asheville and Buncombe County.
What We Do
NC 2-1-1 provides assistance 24 hours per day and 7 days per week by trained referral specialists who listen to callers, assess needs, identify appropriate resources, and provide detailed information (available in multiple languages) to connect people with services to meet their needs. Areas of information, referral, and assistance include:

- Food
- Utilities
- Heating Assistance
- Healthcare
- Clothing and Household Goods
- Mental Health and Substance Use
- Aging and Disability Services
- Employment and Income
NC 2-1-1 provides navigation for the NCCARE360 platform, which electronically unites healthcare and human service organizations to connect those with identified needs to community resources.
