Who We Are

Mission: To provide a safe, caring and supportive learning environment that equips students for growth and success.

Avery’s Creek Elementary School (ACES) is an elementary school in the Buncombe County Schools System serving children in kindergarten through 4th grade. ACES strives to develop a community of responsible and motivated leaders who own their own learning and success. ACES envisions a school community where students develop their full potential by learning to be global leaders and motivated learners.

What We Do

ACES uses a curriculum designed for each grade level consisting of classes in reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, science, art/music, and health/physical education. The school also offers opportunities for participation in a safety patrol club and a chess club with both beginner and advanced classes. Additional programming includes:

  • Dual Language Program, which is integrated into each grade level with the goal of helping students develop proficiency in two languages.
  • Leader in Me Program, which helps students develop habits that focus on strategies for approaching situations personally, working with peers and appreciating differences, and keeping a balanced life.
  • Ambassadors of Peace Program, which engages third and fourth grade student representatives as ambassadors to promote conflict resolution and the ideas of peace and kindness in the school.
