Food Drives at County Libraries

Now through November 25, 2025. Donate shelf‑stable foods at any of the 12 Buncombe County library branches during open hours. Additional sites: HHS (40 Coxe Ave.), Register of Deeds (205 College St.), Lake Julian Park; plus City of Asheville locations at Tempie Avery Montford, Harvest House, Grove St., and Stephens‑Lee community centers.

  • Please no glass containers
  • Canned proteins (chicken, tuna; pouches preferred)
  • Shelf‑stable milk (2% or regular)
  • Low‑sodium soups
  • Canned entrées (chili, red beans & rice, ravioli, spaghetti)
  • Canned fruits (in water)
  • Canned vegetables (no salt added)
  • Rice
  • Pasta & pasta dishes
  • Pasta sauce in cans
  • Rice side dishes (boxed)
  • Baby formula (just add water) & baby food (plastic)
