Organization: Black Mountain Center for the Arts Volunteer Role: Front of House About the Role: Volunteer Responsibilities: Create a welcoming, festive atmosphere for all patrons Greet guests warmly as they arrive and check tickets Provide directions to restrooms, seating, and other venue areas Distribute programs and recital information at entrances Assist guests with accessibility needs Monitor the lobby and auditorium during the performance for latecomers and prohibited activities Help with crowd control during intermission Address any audience emergencies or concerns promptly and communicate with house management as needed Requirements: A few minutes before the scheduled start time, to be checked in and oriented Complete the volunteer information form/waiver Reliable attendance commitment Skills & Attributes: Outgoing, friendly, and helpful demeanor Excellent verbal communication and clear direction-giving skills Comfortable interacting with diverse groups of people Ability to stand and walk for 3-4 hours, including climbing auditorium stairs multiple time Attire: Business casual or neat casual clothing Comfortable, close-toed shoes suitable for standing, walking, and stairs Dark colors preferred to minimize distraction Health and Safety: Masks are optional; please bring your own if desired Hand sanitizer available on site Familiarize yourself with the venue layout, emergency exits, and procedures during orientation and briefing Report any safety concerns immediately to house manager To sign up for this volunteer opportunity, simply Click the blue "respond" button above to secure your spot and receive next-step instructions from our organization Please DO NOT SHOW UP IF YOU DID NOT RESPOND!
