Volunteer: Volunteer at the Blessing BarnThe Blessing Project is a faith-based nonprofit serving individuals and families across Western North Carolina by providing food, clothing, essentials, prayer, and community support with dignity and compassion. We are seeking volunteers to assist at the Blessing Barn, our community resource space, where volunteers help welcome guests, organize donations, and support families as they receive essential items. Volunteer Responsibilities: Welcome and assist guests with kindness and respect Sort, organize, and restock food, clothing, and household items Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized space Assist with special areas such as the Holiday Shop or Birthday Barn (seasonal) Support staff and fellow volunteers as needed Requirements: Completion of a volunteer waiver and registration form Brief on-site orientation and training on your first shift Ability to follow safety guidelines and staff direction Personal transportation to and from the Blessing Barn Skills Required: Positive, compassionate, and respectful attitude Ability to communicate clearly with staff, volunteers, and guests Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 20 lbs (as able; accommodations available) Willingness to work in a fast-paced, people-centered environment Attire: Comfortable, modest clothing appropriate for active work Closed-toe shoes required Weather-appropriate attire if assisting outdoors Location: Health and Safety: Hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies are available on site Volunteers are encouraged to stay hydrated and take breaks as needed Safety protocols are reviewed during orientation Masks are optional To sign up for this volunteer opportunity, simply Hands On Asheville-Buncombe is not responsible for opportunities managed by partner agencies.
