Volunteer: Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity - Construction and Home Repair Volunteer Opportunities

Are you looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity that involves working with a team, being active, learning new skills and requires NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE? Volunteer alongside our experienced construction staff to help us build and repair homes. Full day shifts (8:30-3:30) are available year round, Monday-Thursday and Saturday. Half-day (AM) shifts on Friday.


Volunteer Responsibilities:

Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment.

Follow instructions from site supervisor — assisting with the process of constructing a new home or completing a series of home repairs, which may include but is not limited to one or a variety of the following tasks:

New Home: Framing, siding, setting trusses, landscaping, shed assembly, painting, trim, cabinet installation, cleaning, deck building

Home Repair: Building/installing accessibility modifications, roof/ceiling repair, drywall replacement, deck building, weatherization, porch-skirting, floor replacement, brush/debris cleanup, etc.


Requirements:

Complete Shift Registration/Liability Waiver

Appropriate Work Attire

Personal transportation to site.


Skills Required: 

N/A


Attire:

Closed toe shoes and comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing suitable for hands-on work.


Location:

Work occurs primarily in Asheville and Buncombe County. Details about location will be shared upon registering to volunteer.


Health and Safety:

Each shift begins with a safety briefing.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required and provided on site.
