Volunteer: Prepare Hygiene Items & Pet Food Packages

What you will do:

Each Tuesday afternoon, we prepare client-specific "special orders" for our Food Pantry clients.  We package hygiene items, diapers, and pet food.   

Additional details include:

This is usually a one-person task (although 2 people can do it).  No heavy lifting.Work is completed out in our garage Food Pantry.Training and support is provided.

Your impact:

Food stamps don't cover hygiene items and pet food; by sharing these items we alleviate some financial burden.  Receiving these items also support the mental and physical well-being of our clients.  

Pets are an important part of people's lives.  By providing pet food we help ensure people don't have to choose choice between feeding themselves and feeding their pet.


Volunteer Requirements:

To volunteer at Catholic Charities, onboarding is required.  This includes a background check and a 1.5 hour training, creating in a volunteer account, and additional food-pantry related trainings.

Volunteers must be 18+ to volunteer alone.

What you will do:

Each Wednesday, we distribute food and toiletries through our Drive-Thru Food Pantry.

Additional details:

There are multiple roles: Check-In (1), Packing Perishables (1),  and Distribution (2) Volunteers work roughly 10:15am -1:30pmRoles are active - volunteers are on feet the majority of the time. Lifting boxes involved.Check-In role does not involve heavy liftingWork is completed outdoors -- in all weather: rain, heat, cold.Training and support is provided.
