Volunteer: United Way ABC: Front Desk/Office Volunteer Needed

We have many people coming to our building looking for resources and wanting to help with relief efforts and more. We are looking for volunteers to help with evolving daily operations of our offices. 


Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Morning (9:00 - 12:30) and afternoon (12:30 - 4:00) shifts available


Must be 18+

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Orientation and training will be provided by office personnel at the beginning of each volunteer shift

Perform clerical tasks, including filing, phone calls, and moving items around office space

Bundle supplies for volunteers, partner organizations, and office staff members

Attire:

Please wear clothing that is between business casual and casual.

There are members of our offices that have allergies and sensitivities to fragrances please mindful of perfumes, lotions, fragrant perfumes.

Keep in mind that you'll be in an office space but also will want comfortable shoes for walking around.

Volunteer: Volunteer for United Way with iDaph Events at the 2026 Asheville Marathon & Half

United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County is excited to be the premier charity partner for iDaph Events Asheville Marathon & Half on Saturday, March 21st.

United Way is recruiting volunteers to cover three shifts on Race Day, each lasting three to four hours. Volunteers are managed by iDaph Events. Shift times range from 6am-12pm on Saturday, March 21st.

All race day volunteers have the opportunity to DOUBLE their impact! As the premier charity partner of Asheville Marathon & Half, for each volunteer we recruit who fulfills their shift, UWABC will receive $25 per volunteer hour from iDaph Events!


These dollars go directly to the Live United Fund to support the incredible work in UWABC's two impact areas: youth opportunity and community resiliency.  Your volunteer hours will support our community schools, U4Y partners, and the long-term recovery efforts of communities bouncing back from Helene.  


If interested, please respond and put the shift in the note section that would best fit your schedule. A member of the iDaph Events team will connect with you 2 weeks before the race with further details about the event for volunteers, including specific responsibilities during your shift. 


Some of the Volunteer Responsibilities May Include:

Assist with parking

Assist with registration

Be a course marshal

Clean up after race

Requirements:

Volunteers must be 18 years or older

Please give first name, last name, email and phone number

Be comfortable communicating via text message with iDaph staff on day of Race.

Have transportation to marshal spots on the course or race hub

Sign a volunteer waiver

Be comfortable working alone without supervision and in high-energy situations

Be prepared to work in any and all types of weather conditions

Be able to stand, lift, walk, and move for their volunteer posts

Event Location:

Volunteer check in location will be provided by iDaph Events in the volunteer details


Attire:

Appropriate comfortable clothing for race day.

Dress according to the weather

Health and Safety:

Volunteers will provided safety vests during active race hours
