The Asheville Museum of Science (AMOS) is Western North Carolina’s home for experiential science learning, discovery and exploration. AMOS strives to spark the imagination and foster lifelong curiosity through exhibits and outreach education programs.
AMOS is looking for volunteers of all ages for remote and in-person opportunities. Examples of opportunities include, but are not limited to, video/photography production, graphic design, and research projects!

- Business Operations
- Archives and Curation
- Museum Shop

Time Commitment:
- Weekday, weekend, after-hours, and remote opportunities available
Museum Hours:
- Monday - Saturday from 10am-5pm and Sundays from 1pm - 5pm.
Onboarding/Requirements/Skills:
- An interest in engaging with museum visitors of all ages, enthusiastically!
- Willingness to ensure that all visitors are having a positive experience during their visit
- Have ample time management and solid organizational skills
- A passion for increasing interest in STEM in children

Health/Safety:
- We are asking volunteers to wear/bring their own face covering during participation
- Cloth covering nose and mouth
- Fabric or disposable face mask
- Asking volunteers to maintain physical distance of 6 feet or more
- All volunteers and interns are required to sign a Health Safety Form detailing policies and protocols, following all state and local health safety guidance
