Your safety and limiting the spread of COVID-19 is everyone’s main priority. We encourage you to review and adhere to the recommendations on the Buncombe County readiness site on how best to avoid COVID-19 and what to do if you think you might have it.
Buncombe County Government provides a variety of services to residents around the areas of general government, human services, culture and recreation, environment, education, economic and physical development. As a response to community needs around food insecurity during COVID-19 response, we will need volunteers to support Community Engagement Food Markets hosted Monday-Friday.
Volunteer Roles Include:
- Assistance with on-site set up and break down
- Unloading Food Truck and/or packaging boxes/bags
- Passing out food boxes/bags to community residents
Requirements:
- Respond to each shift you are able to fulfill
- If you want to volunteer with friends or family, Respond as a Team
- Must be ages 18-60 to volunteer
- Positive customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm during times of crisis
- Close toed shoes
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Bending, twisting, stooping
