The Free Community Market (FCM) at Montmorenci UMC is a Hands On Partner Agency and a MANNA Foodbank Partner Agency. FCM is a totally volunteer operated weekly free food distribution supported by Montmorenci United Methodist Church and others. Volunteers come from all walks of life and are not necessarily members of Montmorenci UMC. FCM HAS been in continuous operation since March 2013 and will continue through the current crisis caused by Helene
FCM normally distributes food in a free choice, market type setting. During the current crisis, food and water will be boxed and distributed in a drive up setting.
Food will be delivered to the church on Tuesday afternoons. Unloading and packaging of food will take place on Tuesday afternoons, 1 to 4 PM.
FCM normally distributes food to between 120 and 160 households weekly. We distribute to a trilingual community (English, Spanish, and Ukrainian/Russian

- Must be at least 18 years old OR be accompanied by an adult if between 12-17 years old
Skills Required:
- Positive customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm during times of crisis
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds)
- Bending, twisting, stooping
- Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions
Attire:
- Wear clothes that are comfortable and let you move freely
- Dress for the weather forecast
- Comfortable, close-toed shoes
