Your safety and limiting the spread of COVID-19 is everyone’s main priority. We encourage you to review and adhere to the recommendations on the Buncombe County readiness site on how best to avoid COVID-19 and what to do if you think you might have it.
In partnership with Buncombe County Health & Human Services and Buncombe County Schools, a no-cost, walk up vaccine clinic for students 12+ will be held at Asheville Middle School located at 211 South French Broad Avenue in Downtown Asheville on Saturday, June 12th. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine as well as the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be available.
We are looking for volunteers to support StarMed Family and Urgent Care with collecting patient information while participants are waiting in line in their cars to receive vaccine administration.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Fill out the requisition form with patient provided information
- Verify if patient has pre registered in the UNITY app
- Responsible for taking down patient information in regards to insurance cards
- Set up support, break down support
Requirements:
- Ability to stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time
- Willingness to work outside in inclement weather
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
- Bilingual volunteers welcome
- Provide patients with a positive experience
- Adhere to proper Health and Safety precautions
Shift can be full or half days: (volunteers can select more than one shift)
- 8:00-12:30 or 12:30 - 5:00

Please understand that if you show up on-site without registering first, you may be turned away so that the agency can maintain safety procedures.
