Before you even begin thinking about volunteering, ask yourself – Am I well enough to volunteer?
Your safety and limiting the spread of COVID-19 is everyone’s main priority. We encourage you to review and adhere to the recommendations on the Buncombe County readiness site on how best to avoid COVID-19 and what to do if you think you might have it.
Wildwood Herbal is a 2nd generation farm that began nearly 40 years ago as an herb farm and has expanded into a full service farm providing not only medicinal and culinary herbs and flowers but organic vegetables and a wide array of hemp products. We are currently working with local agencies that serve both homebound and mobile seniors to provide fresh produce to this population throughout the year as a means of improving the health of this vulnerable population.
We are seeking energetic volunteers to assist us with common gardening duties for our plants, produce, and hemp on our 7 acre farm which includes 6 greenhouses and 10 acres of leased land.
**We are in need of extra hands to help harvest our winter crops that weekly feed 200 community dwellers attending local senior centers as well as providing produce for cooks at Meals on Wheels to prepare fresh side dishes serving 500 homebound seniors daily.
