Western Carolina Ministries is looking for volunteers to help package clothing and shoes for distribution. Shifts are from 10am-1pm and 1pm to 4pm Monday - Friday.
Children 12 and up can volunteer. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
● Packaging clothing and shoes into boxes for distribution.
● Sorting between usable and non-usable clothing
● Organizing clothing and shoes by sizes
● Unloading clothing that needs to be sorted and packing distribution cars
Requirements:
● Volunteers will be required to:
○ Sign up through the United Way Hands-On portal
○ Participate in the full 3 hours of the shift they sign on for
○ Bring their own water and snacks if desired. There will be some provided but there is no guarantee as to how much.
Skills Required:
● Volunteers must be able to:
○ Organize and fold clothing neatly and effectively
○ Be comfortable standing for up to 3 hours
○ Ability to lift at least 10 lbs
Attire:
● Volunteers must adhere to the following dress:
○ Comfortable, close-toed shoes
○ Long pants with no visible holes or tears
○ Comfortable active clothing
