Cattle Branch Cattle Co. is a family-run farm in the foothills of Western North Carolina. Our goal is for people to get hands-on farm experience safely and positively. We are passionate about becoming 100% handicap accessible and working diligently to further the all-ability mindset. At this time they are supporting efforts to distribute hay to local farmers affected by Hurricane Helene.
On Thursday, 11/21, we are looking for volunteers to help load 400 bales of hay onto a trailer in Asheville, follow us to our farm 25 minutes away, and unload for pickup. Please sign up TODAY if you are available.
**Additionally ~ If you have a truck or a trailer and are willing to transport hay to farms in the area please notify the site supervisor, this would be in addition to this opportunity, and is not a requirement to participate.
Requirements/Skills:
- Working vehicle
- Comfortable lifting up to 45 pounds
- Bending, stooping, twisting, lunging
- Comfortable standing and walking for 2 hours
- Ability to follow instructions
- Bring your own water
Attire:
- This event is outdoors so please dress for the weather
- Please wear long sleeves, pants, and close toed shoes
- Please bring your own work gloves if you have them
