About the Organization:
The Black Mountain Center for the Arts (BMCA) is a nonprofit community arts hub offering classes, exhibits, and performances. BMCA Dance, one of our cornerstone programs, fosters creativity, discipline, and confidence through high-quality dance instruction and performance opportunities for youth.
Volunteer Overview:
Support the success of our dance recital by assisting with lights and sound during the dress rehearsal and live performance. This is a great opportunity for both experienced techies and eager learners to contribute behind the scenes.
Volunteer Responsibilities:

Assist with stage lighting and sound operations

Follow cues during rehearsal and performance
-
Communicate with staff to troubleshoot tech issues

Help set up and break down technical equipment
Requirements:

Completion of on-site orientation before the event
-
Personal transportation to the venue
-
Availability for full duration of rehearsal and recital
Skills Required:

Willingness to learn basic lighting/sound cues
-
Good listening and teamwork skills
-
Ability to stay focused and follow directions in a fast-paced environment

Comfortable standing or moving during showtime
Attire:

All black or dark clothing preferred for backstage work

Comfortable, closed-toe shoes
