Description
The American Red Cross is seeking dedicated Volunteer Blood Donor Ambassadors to welcome and support blood donors throughout their donation experience. In this role, you will help create a positive, comfortable environment, answer questions, and encourage repeat donations. Your support helps ensure a great donor experience while advancing the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist donors throughout the donation process.
- Support donor registration and check-in.
- Answer basic questions about blood donation.
- Share how blood donations help save lives.Provide general education on blood donation and blood types.
- Monitor donors during recovery and share post-donation instructions.
- Thank donors and encourage future donations.
- Make donor reminder and follow-up calls as needed.
- Help create a positive and welcoming experience at blood drives.
Requirements
- Available to volunteer approximately 8 hours per shift.
- Reliable, professional, and committed to serving others.
- Attend required training and team meetings.
- Follow American Red Cross policies, procedures, and program standards. Skills Needed Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and donor-focused.
- Calm, friendly, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
