What you will do:
Greet clients, answer phones, book food appointments, provide general information on resources in the area. Sometimes, additional office tasks are included (i.e. filing)
Additional details:
- There two shifts each day: AM (9:30 - 1pm) and PM (1pm - 4:15pm).
- Shifts are available Monday - Friday; commitment is flexible.
- Computer competency is helpful, but not required.
- Heavy lifting is not required.
- Training and support is provided.
Your impact:
Greeting someone with kindness and dignity has an impact. Additionally, whether you interact with people on the phone or in person you will be helping provide information about local resources.
By booking food pantry appointments or providing clients with emergency diapers or pet food, you are also playing a role in helping alleviate financial challenges and hunger.
Volunteer Requirements:
To volunteer at Catholic Charities, onboarding is required. This includes a background check and a 1.5 hour training, creating in a volunteer account, and additional food-pantry related trainings.
Volunteers must be 18+ to volunteer alone.
