Welcome Home (Portable Project)

Help make the transition from homelessness to housing less challenging. Volunteers assemble housewarming kits full of the basic items necessary for any new home, supporting neighbors moving from homelessness into housing. By gathering these basic items that address everyday needs, volunteers have the opportunity to invest in a new start for these folks, and participate in a solution that is ending homelessness in our community. Homeward Bound ends homelessness in Western North Carolina by moving people into their own housing and providing them with the support they need to stay housed for good. People who've been homeless usually have few personal belongings and almost nothing to furnish an apartment. This life-changing transition is MUCH easier if the apartment is move-in ready and feels like a home!
