Before you even begin thinking about volunteering, ask yourself – Am I well enough to volunteer?
Your safety and limiting the spread of COVID-19 is everyone’s main priority. We encourage you to review and adhere to the recommendations on the Buncombe County readiness site on how best to avoid COVID-19 and what to do if you think you might have it.
Homeward Bound of WNC is a Buncombe County nonprofit agency working with others to end the cycle of homelessness. The organization envisions a community where any person who is experiencing homelessness, regardless of characteristics or circumstances, can move directly into service-enriched permanent housing and become a productive member of society. Volunteers will support the AHOPE Day Center which provides showers, mail receipt, phone service, storage of personal belongings, and information about other community resources.
