OnTrack WNC’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance “VITA” Program offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income people who cannot prepare their own tax returns.
Volunteers prepare and file tax returns at no charge for taxpayers from low- to moderate income households. We prepare basic, straight-forward tax returns and refer more complicated returns to a paid preparer. As an IRS VITA site we use the IRS’ TaxWise computer software for tax return preparation/filing. Clients schedule appointments in advance and receive instructions for information to bring to their appointment. Appointments last approximately one hour.
