As one of 9 community schools supported by United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, Asheville Middle School partners with community organizations to provide students and families with resources, opportunities, and supports for success. Community schools create strong ties among families, students, schools, and the community, while serving as academic and social centers to support innovative learning.
The United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County invites you to join us for a Day of Connection on Saturday April 25th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for a beautification day at Asheville Middle School.
Snacks and drinks provided.
Volunteer Responsibilities May Include:
- Spreading and raking mulch
- Cleaning out outdoor beds
- Pulling weeds
- Cleaning tables
Requirements: Personal transportation to the site
Skills Needed:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop
- Ability to lift up to 10lbs
What to Wear: Comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes
