As a community school supported by United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, Owen Middle School partners with community organizations to provide students and families with resources, opportunities, and support for success. Community schools create strong ties among families, students, schools, and the community.
Owen Middle School receives clothing to distribute to students in need in our Community Resource Room. We are seeking volunteers to help organize the clothing donations on 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, and 11/6.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Unboxing clothing donations
- Organizing clothing on racks and shelves
- Creating a clean and inviting environment
Requirements:
- Respond to the shift by clicking the blue RESPOND button above
Skills Required:
- Ability to do light lifting and carrying
- An eye for organizational detail
Attire:
- Comfortable, close-toed shoes
- Long pants with no visible holes or tears
