A.C. Reynolds Middle School (ACRMS) is located on a beautiful campus overlooking the mountains in East Asheville. We serve a diverse community of approximately 530 students, grades 6 through 8. Our dedicated staff is committed to serving the whole child, including academic, career, social and emotional learning. As a Community School supported by United Way, Reynolds offers enriched learning opportunities through after school clubs. 

Each club is led by a teacher or school staff person, and runs from 3:00-5:00pm. Volunteers are needed to assist the club leaders with club-specific activities, and to engage with the students during club time. 1-2 volunteers per club is sufficient.

Mondays - STEM Club (Science, technology, engineering, and math) – conduct science experiments and explore engineering challenges, solve problems through innovation and design in a collaborative, process-based environment to spark STEM career pathways.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Take attendance and distribute provided snacksAssist with the set-up of supplies for the activityBe another adult in the room with a positive and encouraging attitude.

Enka Intermediate School is looking for speakers to present at Career Day on March 27, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. -  12:00 p.m. We are looking for representatives from various fields, such as the military, veterinarians or vet technicians, mechanics, among other interesting professions.


Volunteer Responsibilities:

Arrive by 8:00 a.m. to ensure sufficient set up time for presentations.

Lead four, interactive activities or demonstrations related to profession for 45 minutes each.

Provide insights in your field, such as roles, education, skills, challenges, and opportunities within your profession.

If possible, provide resources, materials, or hands out for students to take home. 


Requirements:
