Mission: To provide comprehensive, quality residential and day services in a caring atmosphere for individuals with developmental and/or socio-economic challenges.
Irene Wortham Center is a nonprofit organization specializing in empowering individuals with developmental and socioeconomic challenges. It is the aim of the Irene Wortham Center to support and encourage individuals in discovering and highlighting their full potential from birth to end of life. Irene Wortham Center strives to help children and adults with disadvantages to lead healthy, happy, and more independent lives.
What We Do
Irene Wortham Center provides comprehensive, quality residential and day services for children and adults of all ages. The programs offered include:
- The Early Learning Center, which serves children six weeks to pre-kindergarten with and without developmental challenges in a 5-star rated inclusive classroom setting featuring small class sizes, low teacher-child ratios, developmental screenings, specialized therapies, and a healthy food program.
- The Adult Day Activities Program, which provides individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities an environment that encourages personal achievement and growth through productivity, academic coursework, independence in daily living skills, socialization, and community integration.
- Residential Services, which provide individuals who have intellectual and developmental disorders with comprehensive, full-time care that includes educational activities, specialized therapies, medical care, recreation and leisure activities, and community inclusion.
- The Supported Employment Program, which provides participants and businesses with support through all phases of employment including evaluation, development, training, and long-term follow-up.
- Alternative Family Living, which provides individualized care for individuals to live in a home setting and make independent choices in daily living.
- Community Networking, which supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disorders as they make trips into the community.
