Overview:
The IT Support volunteer will help maintain and support our organization's technology infrastructure and assist staff with day-to-day technical needs remotely. This role is ideal for someone looking to apply their technical skills in a non-profit or organizational setting, or for an individual interested in gaining experience across a wide range of common business technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
The volunteer may be asked to assist with tasks across the following areas:
- User Support: Provide basic troubleshooting and assistance for staff using Microsoft-based PCs and Apple Computers.
- Software
and Applications: Offer support and training for productivity tools,
including:
- Google Workspace (formerly G Suite): Helping users with Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.
- Zoom: Assisting with setting up, troubleshooting, and managing online meetings and webinars.
- System Maintenance: Assist with basic setup, updates, and maintenance tasks for hardware and software.
- Documentation: Help create or update clear, simple documentation and step-by-step guides for common technical procedures (e.g., how to set up a printer, how to share a document). This involves basic project management and documentation principles.
- Data and Tools: Familiarity with data security concepts and protection schemes, with CRM tools with ability to learn and provide end-user support when needed.
Meetings are remote and occur 2-3 time a week:
Tuesdays: 10:30-11:30 am est
Wednesdays: 11:00 am -12:00 pm est
Saturdays: 10:15-11:15 am est
*Schedule can be flexible, and you would not be required to attend every meeting.
