As a community school supported by United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, Asheville Middle School partners with community organizations to provide students and families with resources, opportunities and supports for success. Community schools create strong ties among families, students, schools, and the community, while serving as academic and social centers to support innovative learning.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Help mitigate and dispose of weeds in planter areas
- Pick up litter around building and common areas
- Distribute mulch in planter areas as needed
Requirements:

Skills Required:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Bending, twisting, stooping
- Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions
Attire:
- Wear clothes that are comfortable and let you move freely
- Dress for the weather forecast
- Comfortable, close-toed shoes
