Buncombe County is seeking volunteers to support the Buncombe County Economic Services Department as they enroll community members in the Hurricane Helene Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP).
Volunteer roles include greeting clients, directing clients as they navigate the parking deck and HHS building, and supporting the Economic Services staff with moving people through their system. Please dress appropriately to be outside or inside.
Please come to the Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) located at United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County - 50 S. French Broad Ave. Volunteers will be given instructions and directions at the VRC.
Must be 18 or older.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
Greeting and directing clients
Supporting Economic Services staff
Skills Needed:
Customer service
Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time
