About the Organization: BMCA offers engaging arts experiences in both indoor and outdoor spaces, with Art in Bloom extending into private gardens for public tours.
Art in Bloom is the Black Mountain Center for the Arts’ annual fundraiser celebrating the intersection of art and nature. The event features floral interpretations of regional artwork, a garden tour with live painting, and supports arts programming and community outreach.
Volunteer Overview: Garden Guides serve as site ambassadors, checking tickets, welcoming visitors, and providing information about BMCA and the gardens.
Volunteer Responsibilities:

Greet and orient visitors

Verify ticket validity

Provide event and organization information

Help with photo/video content
Requirements:

Attend pre-event meeting with garden owner on June 16th

Completion of orientation

Personal transportation to assigned garden
Skills Required:

Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather

Friendly and communicative

Able to stand for long periods
Attire:

Comfortable outdoor clothes (Florals and spring colors encouraged!)

Shoes suitable for outdoor standing/walking

Avoid tops that restrict pin-badge placement
Location: Various gardens in Black Mountain (assignments provided after sign-up)
