About the Organization:
BMCA Dance is part of the Black Mountain Center for the Arts’ broader mission to enrich community life through the arts. Our youth dance program encourages self-expression, teamwork, and joy, culminating in performances like our annual spring recital.
Volunteer Overview:
Ensure our young dancers stay safe, engaged, and prepared for their moment on stage. Volunteers will escort children, provide supervision, and help maintain a positive atmosphere backstage.
Volunteer Responsibilities:

Supervise dancers backstage before and after their performance

Escort children to and from the stage area
-
Help keep kids engaged and calm during downtime

Communicate with staff and parents as needed
Requirements:

Completion of orientation on-site
-
Background check may be required
-
Personal transportation to the venue
-
Must be available for the full duration of the event
Skills Required:

Friendly, patient, and attentive
-
Enjoy working with children
-
Ability to stay alert and calm in a busy environment

Comfortable standing or sitting on the floor as needed
