The Asheville Dream Center is organizing the summer’s largest serve day! On Saturday, June 28, hundreds of volunteers across Asheville and surrounding areas will unite for Love Our City Serve Day, a large-scale outreach initiative aimed at uplifting communities through service, celebration, and strategic partnerships.
Taking place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., we’re hosting a Love Our City Serve Event in Barnardsville, a community deeply impacted by Hurricane Helene. Many families lost their homes and belongings. Some are still living in RVs. Children lost their clothes, toys, and the things that made their spaces feel safe.
“This is one of the most impactful days of the year for us,” says Organization Founder, Michelle Coleman. “We’re not just doing service projects—we’re investing in long-term relationships and community transformation.”
Key Highlights:
Disaster Recovery Collaboration – In partnership with our Barnardsville Division, volunteers will contribute to long-term Hurricane Helene recovery projects, providing critical support to families still rebuilding. We’ve seen what’s possible when compassionate people come together—and now we have another opportunity to make a difference that will last.
We’ll be working at the Big Ivy Community Center, helping rebuild the community pool and restore the ball fields so kids can have a place to be kids again this summer—laughing, playing, and healing.
