ABCCM Transformation Village provides up to 100 beds of transitional housing for homeless women, mothers with children, and Veterans. In the winter months, on the nights when the temperatures fall below 32 degrees they will open up for overnight emergency shelter at their Safe Haven.
Shifts are 9AM-11AM (Cleaning), 4PM-8PM & 8PM-12AM
Training and emergency contact numbers will be provided and you would be paired with an experienced staff member.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Supervise guests (ensure rules are being followed, gather meals, lead activities, etc)
- Assist with intake
- Drive van to and from bus stop
- Clean and sanitize sleeping areas after a Code Purple event.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be sensitive to the needs of those needing our help
- Available to handle crisis (ie. the need to call Police or EMS)
Skills Required:
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
- Calm presence and demeanor
- Supervisory
