About the Role:
Black Mountain Center for the Arts is seeking a creative and reliable volunteer to capture photos and videos during both the dress rehearsal and the “Stars in Motion” recital. Your work will help showcase our talented dancers, support marketing efforts, and provide cherished memories for families.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
Photograph and record video footage of performances and candid moments during dress rehearsal and recital
Capture group shots and individual highlights as opportunities arise
Coordinate with the recital staff to understand key moments and important scenes to document
Ensure high-quality images and videos suitable for marketing materials and family distribution
Maintain professionalism and respect privacy guidelines when photographing minors
Requirements:
Availability for dress rehearsal and recital dates: May 17th 1:30 - 5:30 PM
Completion of the volunteer information form
Reliable attendance commitment
Skills & Attributes:
Experience with photography and/or videography preferred, but not required
Ability to operate cameras and basic video equipment confidently
Detail-oriented with an eye for capturing meaningful moments
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
Comfortable working discreetly around performers and the audience
Attire:
All black or dark clothing is preferred to minimize distraction backstage and during performances
Comfortable shoes suitable for standing and moving
Health and Safety:
Masks optional; bring your own if desired
Hand sanitizer available on site
Adhere to all privacy and safety protocols for photographing minors and backstage areas
