What you will do:
Each Wednesday, we pack boxes of fresh food to distribute through our Drive-Thru Food Pantry.
Additional details:
- Volunteers work roughly 10:15am -1:30pm
- Roles are active - volunteers are on feet the majority of the time. Lifting boxes involved.
- Work is completed in our Food Pantry (garage) -- temperatures can vary.
- Training and support is provided.
Your impact:
Fresh food is a top request at our Pantry -- partly because these items are expensive. Receiving this food helps alleviate financial burden while providing access to some heathier food options.
While not a client-facing role, this packing opportunity is integral to serving the individuals visiting our Food Pantry. It also provides essential support to the other members of the "Wednesday Crew."
Volunteer Requirements:
To volunteer at Catholic Charities, onboarding is required. This includes a background check and a 1.5 hour training, creating in a volunteer account, and additional food-pantry related trainings.
Volunteers must be 18+ to volunteer alone.
(*volunteer roles are not suitable for Community Service requirements)
