Description
The American Red Cross is seeking dedicated volunteer educators to support the Regional Disaster Cycle Services team. In this role, you will help save lives and prevent injuries by delivering free preparedness and safety education to community members. Volunteers work alongside Red Cross staff and fellow volunteers to promote disaster preparedness and community resilience.

Volunteer Responsibilities

  • Support regional preparedness goals, initiatives, and activities.
  • Deliver preparedness education programs, including Hands-Only CPR, Ready Rating®, and Be Red Cross Ready.
  • Assist with community outreach and preparedness events.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders.
  • Help manage preparedness materials, supplies, and educational resources.

Requirements

  • Be available to volunteer approximately 10 to 20 hours per month.
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to serving others.
  • Attend required training sessions and team meetings.
  • Follow American Red Cross program standards and guidance.

Skills Needed

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage and educate individuals and groups of varying ages and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff and volunteer leadership.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with diverse audiences and community partners.
  • Passion for community outreach, education, and disaster preparedness.
