Join us on January 21st, 2019, to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and participate in a day of service. Volunteers will help out at Enka Middle School with a winter cleaning project from 8:30am-11:30pm. Volunteers will be inside deep cleaning the classrooms and sanitizing the spaces. Prepare to get down and dirty!
We know that this time of year, the cold and flu can prevent many students from coming to school and attendance is a key indicator for a student's success. If a student misses 18 days (or 10% of school) and there is no intervention, their likelihood of high school graduation drops to just 25%. While absences can be due to a number of factors, let's help keep the school clean and stop the spread of germs and limit those missed days! Come on out and support our students!
Less germs = Healthy students!
NOTE: All volunteers for this project are invited and encouraged to attend the MLK Partnership for Change Kickoff event the morning of the 21st in Alumni Hall at UNC Asheville and pick up your t-shirt. Light breakfast will begin at 7:15am, followed by the kickoff and the program will conclude at 8:05am in time for you to get to your project sites.
**Please note that if you register after January 10th, 2019 we cannot guarantee you will receive a t-shirt.
