We hope you'll join us on MLK Day of Service to work on building new homes for Habitat families! Please see below for details about the project. Habitat is dedicated to providing safe and affordable housing to residents of Buncombe County. Our neighborhoods are the most diverse in the county, and represent the gathering of cultures, races, backgrounds, and ages that Dr. King envisioned for our world.
Please be onsite and ready to go by 8:15am. The project will end around 11:30am. We'll be working on projects inside the homes, so will be able to continue if there is inclement weather. For safety, youth aged 16 and older can participate in this project. No youth younger than 16 are allowed on the build site. We appreciate your understanding.
Parking: Please park at the site or in the lot at Eaton Corporation across the street.
Attire: Closed-toe shoes are required, and layers are suggested.
NOTE: All volunteers for this project are invited and encouraged to attend the MLK Partnership for Change Kickoff event the morning of the 21st in Alumni Hall at UNC Asheville. Light breakfast will begin at 7:15am, followed by the kickoff and the program will conclude at 8:05am in time for you to get to your project sites.
**Please note that if you register after January 10th, 2019 we cannot guarantee you will receive a t-shirt.
