Enka Middle School is a comprehensive middle school in the Buncombe County School System serving grades 7 - 8 and emphasizing academic excellence, student engagement, and school safety. The mission of Enka Middle School is to educate all students in an engaging, positive environment to foster global lifelong learners. As a community school supported by United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, Enka Middle School partners with community organizations to provide students and families with resources, opportunities and supports for success.
Enka Middle School is seeking individuals to facilitate virtual extracurricular clubs (listed below) weekly. Each club is one hour one day a week from 3:00-4:00. Please respond if interested and someone will follow up with you with next steps.
Volunteer Roles Include:
- Commitment to 1 hour per week for specified quarter or semester
- Facilitating Specific Club Virtually
- Empowering, engaging and sparking student interest and creativity
- Demonstrating or teaching skills related to specific club/s
- Being a positive role model for students
Requirements:
- Commitment to one hour per week for specified quarter or semester
- Access to reliable internet
- Ability to limit distractions during club facilitation
- Ability to navigate within Zoom
- Knowledge or strong interest for specific club topic
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with middle school youth
