In partnership with Buncombe County, United Way of Asheville Buncombe County is opening a warehouse donation receiving and distribution site in South Asheville to support the work of our community partners and organizations.
Together, we are collecting essential resources and need ADULT (18+) volunteers only to help receive and sort the generous donations coming into the warehouse.
ADDRESS: 6 Commerce Way, Arden 28704. The warehouse is located off 191/Brevard Road
ACCURATE & PASSABLE ROUTE:
- I-26 to Exit 37 - Long Shoals Road (Do NOT take exit 33 as instructed by Google Maps).
- Go west on Long Shoals (NC-146 W) - if you are coming from Asheville, you will turn RIGHT on Long Shoals; if you are coming from the south, you will turn LEFT on Long Shoals.
- Turn right onto NC-191 N/Brevard Rd. Turn left onto Commerce Way. Take the first left; parking lot is immediately on the left
- NOTE: If you end up at ABCCM - We are conjoined to there warehouse, so come next door!

Volunteer Responsibilities:
Loading and unloading vehicles
Moving supplies
Sorting, organizing, and packaging supplies
Parking Lot attendant support as vehicles enter the lot
Requirements:
Must be 18+ years old
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with high level of background/startling noises
Transportation to the site
Ability to lift at least 25lbs
Comfortable with bending, stooping, walking and twisting
Adhere to all safety measures
Ability to stand for long periods
Work in teams and follow instructions from team leaders
Attire:
Wear CLOSED TOED SHOES!!!
Wear appropriate protective gear (gloves, sturdy shoes)
If you have a Live United shirt please wear
Health and Safety:
Restrooms will be available
While Water and snacks for volunteers are available, we ask that you pack the food you require for physical work
Limited cell phone and WIFI access in Arden (coming soon)
GPS is not working in Arden. Some roads may be closed please follow the directions above
