As a community school supported by United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, Enka Intermediate School partners with community organizations to provide students and families with resources, opportunities, and support for success. Community schools create strong ties among families, students, schools, and the community while serving as academic and social centers to support innovative learning.
Enka Intermediate School is hosting a Self-Care and Wellness Community Night on February 17, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. EIS is looking for local organizations that specialize in self-care, wellness, or mental health to host interactive tables that inspire participants to prioritize their health and well-being.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
Lead interactive activities or demonstrations related to wellness.
Offer short, engaging sessions on self-care practices, relaxation exercises, nutrition, or other wellness techniques.
Provide resources for participants to practice self-care at home if possible.
Requirements:

Read the follow-up email sent by the UWABC community coordinator at Enka Intermediate.
Sign the Community Night waiver onsite before the event begins.
Skills Required:
Experience and knowledge in areas surrounding wellness, such as nutrition, physical wellness, and stress management, among other topics.
Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
Ability to facilitate demonstrations or activities that are both engaging and informative.
Comfortable standing for long periods.
Attire:
Wear comfortable clothes that are suitable for standing or demonstrating activities.
