Join Verner Center for Early Learning parents, families and other Hands On Flex volunteers to help keep up with the maintenance of their beautiful garden. Projects will vary each month, but will include planting, weeding, mulching, harvesting, and other necessary work. This is a family-friendly volunteer opportunity - children of all ages are encouraged to join in the fun! Verner's educational philosophy highlights the importance of outdoor experiential education for young learners. Created in partnership with Outward Bound, Warren Wilson College, and the Roots Foundation, this garden provides children with an engaging outdoor classroom and opportunities for holistic development and learning. Verner will provide all of the needed tools, but volunteers are asked to wear clothes that can get dirty, close-toed shoes, and bring garden gloves if they have them.
- Youth of all ages are able to attend with an adult volunteer. All youth ages 17 and under are required to bring a youth waiver to this project.
