Help sort food at MANNA FoodBank to be given to more than 260 agencies serving hungry people in Western North Carolina. Volunteers will assist with sorting and preparing donations or helping with monthly mailings.
In the United States, more than one out of five children lives in a household with food insecurity, which means they do not always know where they will find their next meal. In Western North Carolina, this number increases to one out of four children. Approximately 108,000 people in WNC don't have consistent access to three square meals a day. Those people are among us every day, whether we are aware of it or not.
Volunteers are welcome to bring nonperishable food items to donate to MANNA to help them feed the hungry of WNC.
- Youth volunteers age 5+ are able to attend with an adult volunteer. All youth ages 17 and under are required to bring a youth waiver to this project.
