NC MedAssist seeks to ensure that no eligible person in North Carolina has to choose between purchasing food or their needed medication; improving the patient’s health and lowering uncompensated health care costs for all stakeholders.
The Mobile Free Pharmacy provides individuals and families who are low-income with free over-the-counter medicine.
We are seeking volunteers to support the Mobile Free Pharmacy in Asheville, NC on Friday, February 12th, 2021. You do not need a medical background or knowledge of medicine to participate.
Volunteer Roles Include:
- Directing customers
- Locating prefilled online orders
- Collecting minimal data
- Restocking
- Setup, breakdown and cleanup of event
- No medical or medicine knowledge needed to volunteer
Requirements:
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to stand/walk for 3-4 hours
- Maintain confidentiality of customers

- Show up, on time, to the shift you selected

- Hand sanitizer/gel is available on site
- Asking volunteers to maintain physical distance of 6 feet or more when possible
- Note: there are times when the volunteer task requires volunteers to engage closer than 6 feet. Please do not sign up if you feel uncomfortable.
