NC MedAssist seeks to ensure that no eligible person in North Carolina has to choose between purchasing food or their needed medication; improving the patient’s health and lowering uncompensated health care costs for all stakeholders.
The Mobile Free Pharmacy provides individuals and families with free over-the-counter medicine.
We are seeking volunteers to support the Mobile Free Pharmacy Drive-Thru Event in Asheville, NC on Friday, October 1st, 2021. While we do have roles for medical professionals, you do not need a medical background or knowledge of medicine to participate.
Volunteer Roles Include:
- Traffic Control, Greeting/Directing participants
- Locating and taking prefilled online orders to participants in their vehicles
- Collecting minimal data
- Distributing pre-made bags of medicine to participants in their vehicles
- Setup, breakdown, and cleanup of the event
- No medical knowledge needed to volunteer
Requirements:
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to stand/walk for 3-4 hours
- Maintain confidentiality of customers
Shifts:
- The link to sign up will be sent AFTER you respond to this opportunity
- Occur between 7:00 am and 1:30 pm
- Shift times vary between 3.5 hours and 6.5 hours

- Hand sanitizer/gel is available on site
- Asking volunteers to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet or more when possible
- Note: there are times when the volunteer task requires volunteers to engage closer than 6 feet. Please do not sign up if you feel uncomfortable.
