The Salvation Army in Asheville is a nonprofit organization, an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church, working in Buncombe County to serve people in need of food, clothing, and shelter. The mission of The Salvation Army is to meet human needs with love and compassion.
We are looking for volunteers to assist on Thanksgiving Day with preparing to-go dinners and filling food boxes for community members who stop by.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Respond to secure your volunteer slot
- Maintains confidentiality of Salvation Army clients
- Excellent with customer service
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
Health and Safety:
- Hand washing sinks and hand sanitizer are available
- We are asking volunteers to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status
- Asking volunteers to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet or more when possible
- Note: there are times when the volunteer task may require a volunteer to engage closer than 6 feet. Please do not sign up if you feel uncomfortable.
