Haywood Street Respite is a safe place for unhoused adults to rest, get three meals a day, and be helped in other ways to “get back on their feet” following hospital discharge from an acute medical need. It is short-term care in a home-like setting for those who are too ill or frail to recover on the streets after surgery or acute illness. We have 12 beds and will soon renovate our space to increase our capacity to 25!
We are looking for people to help in our respite care by cleaning the kitchen, general cleaning and upkeep, preparing meals, and driving friends on errands or appointments. This opportunity is daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. This is our residents' home at this time, so we ask that you also offer companionship and help bring peace into the space.
